WordPress Memorial Website

[ad_1]

Hello all, I am trying to set up a one page website for my late father. I just need the same format as all of the other memorial sites out there, with a few posts and pictures at the top, and a comment section below where people can write their name and some memories about him. The problem is that none of the established memorial sites are able to use the domain that I have registered (rememberbob dot com). So it appears that I have to build the page myself. I currently purchased the domain on Google domains, and then purchased WordPress Personal for $48 (my plan is the “Starter” plan at $4 per month) and had the domain transferred over. So I log into my WP domain with the menu at the left, go to the My Home Site Setup, and click Launch Your Site (just to see if it works), and it indicated that the site is live. However when I try to go to it I get the following error DNS\_PROBE\_FINISHED\_NXDOMAIN

My question: does this mean that my site is not properly being hosted? I paid the $48 for wordpress personal, as well as the “domain connection” which is on my receipt email. Do I have to also pay for a hosting service such as bluehost, etc. to make the page go live? Or do I just need to upgrade my WordPress plan?

I have experience managing the website of a non profit that I am involved in through WordPress via the Elementor plugin, and it has a lot of extra menu options that my personal site does not, such as Dashboard, and Elementor, and WP Forms.

Any help at all I would appreciate so much.
