Last week a friend asked me to look at his site for him. It was redirecting to some malicious page. So I updated(4 to latest 6.1) . Deleted any unused plug ins , installed word fence ran several scans deleting and fixing till all was reading clean and clear. Then today another mystery post. I’ve checked and email posts don’t look like it’s on and I even blanked out the example fields just in case. And even tho there was no login a new post made under admin…the only user.
So is there anything else I can do other than completely deleting and starting over with a fresh install?
And if I do a fresh install can I keep the current database so I don’t have to setup everything again? Or could the database be corrupted and need to be clean as well?
Not a newb by any means so can handle fix if I can find the issue.Thanks

Is it possible the admin password is compromised?
Fresh install/new server is usually worth the peace of mind if something got exploited.
