Hi
I’m not too experienced at wordpress – have been using it a bit for some years but only “basic” usage and my current site has just been left without much work or changes from my side. I’m using “sendinblue” for SMTP but they’ve requested that I change SMTP server to their new name, which is “brevo”.
I have a text file I created when I configured my wordpress-site but unfortunately I only wrote down the smtp-settings ***- not where I entered these settings in wordpress***… I tried to look in the “Plugins”-section, but each have their own settings and I’m thinking that there should be a central place so all plugins can send emails… I also tried to google, but that didn’t help. I can add that under “Settings” ([https://mysite/wp-admin/options-general.php]) I’ve add “Administration email address” so it knows where to send mails, but how is wordpress able to send anything to that email address when I cannot see any SMTP-settings there?
Question is: Where do I change the SMTP-settings so wordpress is capable of sending me mails when something fails?
These are the plugins I currently use, if any of them are responsible for sending emails (google indicates that it’s one of my plugins that is responsible for sending emails):
* *Akismet Anti-Spam: Spam Protection*
* *All in One SEO*
* *Elementor*
* *Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights*
* *Hello Dolly*
* *OptinMonster*
* *Shield Security*
* *UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore*
* *Wordfence Security*
* *WPForms Lite*
* *Yoast SEO*
Thanks and sorry if the question is too easy, for WP-experts 🙂
***UPDATE: oops, I think I found the setting: I’m running wordpress via hestia control panel and although I have looked there several times unfortunately only now I found the setting: In hestia CP I log in and click “Mail” and click my domain and then there’s a small button “Edit Mail Domain” (which is easy to overlook) which in the bottom has “SMTP Relay”-settings… Apparently this setting is what makes WordPress automatically be able to send out emails? Anyway, I think this is it – otherwise please comment, thanks!***

Optin monster and elementor sounds suspicious regarding this. I dont use any of those but I safely rule the rest out.
I suggest you use FluentSMTP pljgin for this purpose however. Its very good, lightweight plugin, no premiums, no ads, just simple smtp settings with the ability to send test mail to be sure it works.
Hope this helps.
