WordPress optimize png images?

Got wordpress site made by an agency. It has quite a bit of images (all pngs) and are quite large in size. I’d like to keep pngs but switch it to jpegs for delivery to users – as they are much smaller in size. Is there a plugin that does it automatically, or should I convert each image manually to jpeg and update the website?

  1. why even convert to jpeg? i convert it to webp and it does the job. Jpeg will have bigger size and increase the time to load the image on your website. try converting some to jpeg and some to webp to see the difference if possible.
