WordPress plugins

[ad_1]

I can understand that a lot of people cannot code the desired functionality they need in WordPress and need plugins, I just can’t understand why people expect FREE plugins that offer Premium functionality and they will start smear campaigns on the WordPress repository if they don’t get what they want. Are people really that disconnected that they want the sweat & labor of others for free ? (Usually 50-75) dollar range. Honestly, it is so alarming how unhinged and mean people are if they don’t get a free plugin. You can get any cheaper than the WordPress CMS, then you have those that hit the lottery of internet traffic and will devote BLOGS on why some hosting provider is very poor because their 5 dollars a month plan cannot handle 100k monthly visitors and god forbid you need to upgrade to a higher plan.
Sorry just ranting.

  1. Ehh, it depends. Lots of developers (myself included) maintain projects as a labor of love for the open source community. I’ve technically made $0 dollars off a github project that I created and have maintained for the past 8 years. What I didn’t earn in money though I’ve gained in experience, which for me was well worth it. It’s enabled me to expand into other projects that have made me lots of money, and I’m 100% convinced that I wouldn’t have the relevant skills without donating my time to open source projects.
