WordPress security question

[ad_1]

Last year I subscribed to iThemes Security Pro but I didn’t like it very much. Do you think it pays to pay for a security plugin for WordPress? If yes, which one?

And is there a good free version (example: Defender Pro or Shield Security)?

  1. All-in-one security plugins, like the ones you mentioned, have widely different capabilities and a lot of those capabilities are not all that useful. [iThemes documented examples of non-meaningful capabilities that had been in their own plugin in 2021]). So you would probably be better off looking for individual plugins that provide the capabilities you really need instead of an all-in-one plugin. What threats are you looking to have a plugin help protect against?

  2. Try the patchstack plugin, the free version can work as an automated notifier if any site(s) you manage are using known insecure plugins or themes.
