I’m using managed WordPress on a hosting service, so I’ve had trouble finding answers to this.
A while back, I got two messages from GoDaddy around the same time: the first was that malware was found on my website, which they deactivated, and that files could have been changed, and the second message was that an unauthorized third party had gained access to my log-in and account, which they blocked from accessing again.
I would like to fix/repair my website but have no clue where to start, because a lot of the articles cover people using
I know it’s probably not something that anyone could answer in one comment, but are there any good, credible resources someone could point me towards, that would have info on how to deal with this?
Also, is it safe for me to access my website? Or are there any safety measures I should take when doing so?

If you have a backup somewhere on the hosting service, you could restore the site that way and then update the plugins and WordPress to secure your site. Finally changing the admin passwords.
Install Wordfence and run a scan.
Yes you can safely access the site/admin.
Best options:
1. Install a security plugin like Wordfence.
2. Restore a back-up.
3. Wipe your website and start over with a clean installation.
(You can load the back-up on staging to check what content your site used to have.)
4. Hire someone with experience in removing malware.
