WordPress site has slow on internal pages despite 90’s+ on GTMetrix.

Hello WordPress Gurus and aficionados I’m new here and need some guidance. I wouldn’t have built [this site]) in WordPress if the client hadn’t insisted as it’s their preferred CMS so here we are. I’ve just completed site optimization and caching using a plugin stack that has worked in the past and the pages score well on PageSpeed Insights (Mobile – 91 / Desktop – 100) and GTmetrix (Perf 91% / Struct 93%). The internal pages score roughly the save ± a few percentage points. But the experience of moving between pages is slow. Internal pages taking between 4 and 11 seconds to load even on pages not resource heavy. I am tempted to blame the hosting but the host support representative is certain its not their shared hosting, rather blaming our website claiming poor design/optimization..

Any recommendations? Does the hosting need an upgrade based on this?

Plugin Stack:

* ACF Photo Gallery
* Advanced Custom Fields
* Autooptimize
* Cache Enabler
* Custom Post UI
* Intuitive Custom Post Order
* MapSVG
* OptionTree
* Query Monitor (just added)
* WP Meteor

Server is Omnis shared hosting. I know, it’s my clients hosting I never use shared hosting personally.

  1. What’s the page generation time in query monitor? Any http requests showing in the query monitor menu? Disabling autoptimize should help backend speed.
