I've had a page that worked like this in the past, but most of the sites I've built lately do not use blog posts at all, and I don't recall the theme, and no longer have the site available.
What I'm looking for is for blog archive, or 'show recent posts' on the main page to be as follows:

Does anyone know of any themes that have this as an option or guidance on how I might be able to do this with custom css, i'm fairly experienced, but this eludes me.
Currently using the Elsie theme, which I think I can adapt somehow, but open to suggestions.
