WordPress website performance

[ad_1]

I read a post about someone asking opinions on his wordpress site.
A user recommended doing a test.

My mobile site has very low performance and the desktop is all good.
Is this something i can fix easily? Fyi im a complete noob. I made this website myself for a business im starting with friend and we dont have money for hiring a developer 🫠.

Any other opinions and tips are appreciated.

  1. Dimension properly your images for mobile screens if you can (not always possible)
If you have litespeed installed on your server, use the litespeed free plugin (equivalent to wprocket).

  2. Hi, I am a developer from your neighbouring village. Locals call it Beurm 8)

I had a look at pagespeed insights and here are some observations:

    – you are currently not gdpr compliant because you use google analytics, google fonts and recaptcha. You will need to gather consent. Look into the Complianz wp plugin to do this. (or stop using those google services)

    – load recaptcha only on the pages where you are actually going to use it and not on all pages.

    – optimize your images: use correct image resolution and use webp or avif format

    – consider not using google fonts (use a web safe font)

    – consider not using buttonizer. You can code the same functionality in your theme which will save loading an external library

    – consider combining css and js into 1 file. I think litespeed has an option for this. Your are loading too many small files.

TLDR: Fix your large images and combine css and js. This will give you the best gains in pagespeed perfornance for the least amount of work.
