WP 6+, Multiple menus exist but not available from Navigation Block

[ad_1]

ENVIRONMENT:

  • WordPress 6.6.1
  • Twenty-Twenty-Four Theme

PROBLEM / ISSUE:

I wish to apply a specific menu to a page template so that this specific menu is used on certain pages.

When I use Site Editor to add a Navigation Block – WordPress selects one of the existing menus for me without providing a clear way of choosing the actual menu I wish to have displayed.

What is the correct approach to displaying a specific menu rather than having WordPress auto-assign the menu it deems to be appropriate.

CURRENT WORKFLOW:

  • Appearance > Editor
  • Navigation > Duplicate Menu > Rename > Modify Menu Items
  • Patterns > Create New Pattern > Category Header
  • Edit New Header > Add Navigation Block > Menu is Auto Assigned
  • There's no way to select a different pre-existing menu.

NOTE: Some people say to use Appearance > Menus. This option is not available in 6.6.1.

I am not seeing the menu selection box which is visible in this screengrab sourced from a tutorial video:

Help Please.
