WP hide&security enchancer and permalink problem

I have wp site on a server and I would like to use wp hide&security plugin for various tasks.

The problem is that The plugin keeps asking for this: ”permalink is required to be ON at settings > permalinks, for wp hide&security enchancer to work”

This would be easy to Fix if there would be some ”ON” button in The permalink settings.

There are just settings for permalink structure(date, article name, etc.) and fields to Make your own type of structure.

How do I fix this?

Bit older WordPress installation and back then I have set The structure to be plain. Yes, bad for SEO, etc. but back then I had no idea about that 😄 this is the only thing that I can think that has something to do with The problem with that plugin.
