Hi, I’m a WP noob. I’m starting a niche content website.
I bought my domain and hosting via Namecheap and Stellar hosting (from Namecheap themselves). Bought a WP theme from GeneratePress and installed it.
When I click “Visit this site” in WP admin page – it redirects me to a phantom page on my site.
I reinstalled WP via Cpanel and redirected it to homepage – but I can’t edit stuff on the main page.

Probably have to resave the permalinks or edit the home in your settings.
Another option is to change the homepage to another static page
definitely try resaving the permalinks.
Sounds like an issue with permalinks. Have you tried saving it again?
