WP Mail SMTP – really dumb question – how do I add a sign up form on my actual web page?

So, I’m pretty sure I have all the back end plumbing sorted, and WP Mail SMTP is installed in my control panel and seems ready. How do I add a link on my actual web page to allow people to subscribe to it?

Is there a form widget I need to also download to add?

It’s a brand new website, I’m using the default 2024 theme..

Google searches bury me in noise..

  1. I think you may be confused. WP Mail SMTP is an SMTP plugin. The purpose of it is to control / improve email deliberately from email that is sent directly from your website – it’s got nothing to do with having people ‘subscribe to your website’ (I’m assuming you mean newsletter?)

If you’re trying to start a newsletter you would use a service like Mailchimp, Sendgrid, MailerLite etc etc. They all have signup form embedding tools for WordPress.

  2. “How do I add a link on my actual web page to allow people to subscribe to it?” … I assume you mean for a mailing list of something?

If that’s the idea, you can try the mailchimp plugin. I’m suggesting it because it is probably the simplest and you said you were not very savvy.

    Best of luck.
