Hello,
I’m back using wordpress again after a break of several years.
I’m looking for a good basic responsive theme. All I see is freemium themes with an annual subscription. It looks like the new normal.
Any idea to find really free and nice theme? Does it still exist?
Also is there any theme with a lifetime price with update after?

If you’re planning to use Elementor, they have a free Hello theme.
If you’re planning to use Breakdance you don’t need a theme at all.
Best is probably to install wordpress and ad a theme from there repository.
Any free theme downloaded from internet is usually crap or loaded with spam/hackware.
