I’m on WP Engine and would like to serve AVIF/WebP without using the <PICTURE> tag.
I’m familiar with the changes that must be made to the NGINX mime.types and configuration files. I have it working correctly in a local environment.
When I contacted WP Engine support, even after chatting with a “senior tech”, they don’t know what I am talking about. They aren’t familiar with the mime.types file and don’t seem to grasp the concept of adding blocks before and inside of the server directive.
Have you had anyone get this working with WP Engine? Any tips for what I could tell them to get this done?
