  1. Honestly, I have also noticed that as well.Dont get me wrong. Gravity is an amazing product.
However, I have found Formidable Forms to be so much more capable than Gravity.

The only thing where Gravity outperforms, is it has a bit more 3 party integrations, but Formidable Forms is quickly catching up to that.
In addition Formidable Forms beats Gravity hands down in customer workflows and advanced applications. Also in Data management where for example you connect Formidable Forms to WPDatatables, there are huge business use cases for such an implementation and although Gravity can also connect to WPDatatables, you can do so so much more with Formidable Forms.

  2. Been using GF for over a decade. I’ve not had an issue with it meeting my needs. It’s fully extendable with some custom dev, as I would expect any premium plugin worth its salt to be.

You need to find the right form solution that meets your need.

  3. neither one, fluent forms is what i use, has a lifetime pro deal so no recurring fees

  4. I’ve never used WP Forms so can’t compare. But the reason “I” use Gravity Forms is because it was one of the first full featured form plugins out there. It and Contact Form 7 I feel like were the original OG’s. Contact Form 7 though is utter trash for the most part in my opinion with no drag/drop builders or any real features (maybe it’s changed since).

So yeah, back when I started in WordPress, Gravity Forms was really the only option for a full-featured form plugin with tons of 3rd party integrations. I’ve been paying for the developer license ever since and haven’t really found a reason to switch as there is just about nothing it can’t do with an official extension or custom dev if needed.

  5. I’m a very long time GF customer and still use it for all my client sites because I have a grandfathered unlimited license plan. I also know how to build custom stuff on top of it easily because I’ve used it for so long.

WP Forms is managed by a company that exists to milk every possible dime from every possible person with incredibly shady marketing tactics – I am not a fan of most of their stuff.

WS Form is another really great option to consider as well – very developer friendly and tons of add-ons. Has a free version. The dev has awesome support.

  6. Gravity forms is the most robust and easy to use form plugin. Its API is insanely extensive.

  7. I use both and have the top licenses for both. After comparing, I love gravity forms. Much more flexibility and the extensions for it from 3rd party (already core developers doing their own thing) makes it so powerful. I use GravityKit and GravityWiz for my extensions.

  8. I have an Awesome Motive for not using WP Forms, currently using GF for sites in my job sites and usually Fluent Forms for my freelance gigs, so far havent hit any roadblocks with any of those

  9. I have a strong preference for Contact Form 7, but must admit gravity and wpforms have a much better interface and usability.

  10. How do they compare in performance etc? Currently using jotform and has been quite slow load speed.

  11. I used WPForms for about 10 years and recently switched to Fluent Forms. Very happy with the plugin. The free version is plenty for most cases.

  12. WPForms in itself is great. But here’s the catch: You lose the ability to do anything when your subscription with them isn’t renewed. You can’t edit your forms anymore. Hilarious and a highly dubious practice.

We ran into this issue where a customer’s subscription didn’t renew because he changed his credit card. At the same time we had to make an urgent change to one of their forms but weren’t able to. We had to switch to another plug-in.

After that we migrated all our sites away to something else.

It’s a shame because I really liked the plug-in. Very developer-friendly and well done overall.

  13. Gravity forms has tons of options, tons of addons, tons of hooks and filters, and great documentation

  14. Gravity forms has a nicer UI, better PHP hooks, a ton of prebuilt forms all over the internet, a great settings and notifications system. Great spam management. They also use their own WP tables so they aren’t mixed in as a apost Type. I prefer this.

They even have an npm package that loads the forms up client side

  15. I wouldn’t know as I use Fluent everything now and haven’t looked back. I used Gravity Forms as a developer and have a good YouTube video on doing custom dev with it but its been years now.

  16. Gravity Forms, which I only recently started using it, because it has a lot more features like the multi-page forms and more third party integration accessibility. But personally for me, WPForms does have a better drag-and-drop interface.

  17. Gravity Forms are easy to set up and provide extensive customization options. They also offer multiple built-in functions that are very handy.

  18. We have been using wpforms for a few years, the plugin is great but there is no developer support..
