Yoast SEO meta box missing for media files

Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin, though you have reached out on the wrong support forum.

I understand you want to noindex a PDF file. However, individual media files, like PDFs, cannot be noindexed using our plugin. This is because when you directly access these files, they are not served through WordPress.

So to noindex PDF files, please look into using the “X-Robots-Tag”. These tags need to be added to your server configuration. As the tags vary depending on your server, please check the article: https://yoast.com/x-robots-tag-play/ and identify the relevant tag you need.
