  1. Any plug-in that provides an overlay can negatively impact accessibility. So yes, you still have to fix your site. It isn’t hard to make a site accessible.

  2. All of those plugins are a joke, and if anything, **they make your site LESS accessible by adding them.** You should never install one. No plugin is going to fix your Accessibility issues, you need to take the time to fix them yourself.

    There are a million articles out there through Google warning of the risks of installing one of them (no matter how good they sound). [Here is just one](https://adrianroselli.com/2020/06/accessibe-will-get-you-sued.html)

    Also I just remembered that when researching these types of articles to send to clients previously to sway them away from them, I remember one of the “big ones” claimed their plugin would fix everything etc etc.. Yet if you dug around their site, you would find their services page where they describe performing an ACTUAL accessibility audit and it was thousands of dollars for just a few pages. I always found it funny how they had that on their site, but claimed their “free plugin” would fix everything. It just doesn’t make any sense.
