Add posts to specific password protected page?

I have a page on my WordPress site that’s password protected. I’ve made it my “Posts Page” in the settings, but when I try Creating a Post from the Dashboard it sort of creates its own page. It shows up in the Posts list, but it gets its own url added on to my domain.

How do I have those posts appear on that particular page? Is this possible with password protection?
