After years of Elementor I’m looking to switch and wondering what the best options are for performance, SEO and the future of WP – also looking for a bit of clarity about FSE, Frost, GreenShift. etc
I’ve been reading a lot on this sub about page builders and the future of WP dev. I know CSS decently, but want to focus on creating sites quickly, that look good, are lightweight, high performing and optimized.
I’ve seen the following mentioned a lot and just trying to understand the best approach or where to spend my time learning something new:
1. Builders: Bricks and Breakdance seem to be the top choices. I’ve tried both and they both seem fine, Breakdance was a bit quicker to launch for me.
2. GenerateBlocks Pro and GeneratePress Pro
3. FSE, which I think is GenerateBlocks Pro and Frost? (but also confused if this is just the same thing as number 2 but with a different theme)
I’ve also seen a number of positive comments about GreenShift too which if my understanding is correct is essentially the same thing as GenerateBlocks, a different blocks editing plugin?
Thanks for sharing any insight!

I’ve been enjoying Kadence lately. I like the starter sites they offer, and I’m still partial to the customizer over FSE when practical.
Gradually switching a few sites away from Elementor – not abandoning completely, just exploring options for sites that are less demanding structurally.
i use bricks with bricksforge and with this to things i have all what i need for the most sites
Blocks are the future of WordPress
Blocks with GeneratePress Pro and GenerateBlocks Pro are amazing combo. I use that for all the projects I worked on in the past 2 years. And, if I need something specific, I make my own project specific blocks.
Brics, ACF, ACSS Frames (if you are lazy)
