Almost no visitors/traffic, what happened?

[ad_1]

Long story short, I had a good WordPress blog going, I would passionately write content as much as I could, even when I was starting out I would get tens of thousands of visitors a month. I would slowly make changes to the site, nothing crazy, little by little. Traffic continued going up and up.

Then a few months into the COVID lockdown I guess one of the plugins I started using was bugging out the entire website. Not sure if maybe it was a combination of that plugin plus all the traffic coming in, that caused my website to go down. I would quickly resolve it and the site would go back up again. But one day, I went on vacation for a few days (our only vacation in god knows how long) and during that time the site went offline for no more than 2-3 days. I had to call the hosting company directly to help fix the issues and bring it back online, but it was too late, the damage was done.

From that exact point forward, I was never able to recover any of the traffic. A few visitors here and there, but that’s it. I tried everything. Right now I have a good SEO score on RankMath, etc etc. Even hired someone to help fix up any possible issues (Google Search Console issues, etc). Still no traffic. It’s been years now, I’m literally at the end of the line. I stopped writing for a few years to try and figure out what was going on. And even now that I’ve been trying to get back into posting more, still nothing.

It seems like Google completely black-balled my website after it had gone down. It’s depressing, all that work for nothing…

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Does anyone have any possible solutions?
