These are the requirements of the WordPress theme that I am setting up:
I cannot increase the post max size beyond 50M, the PHP time limit beyond 120, and the max upload size beyond 50M.
I contacted the support to see what can I do (maybe increase the package) and they told me, quoting:
“These are very high requirements for one WordPress website and theme, we can try one trick, that usually fixes these kinds of problems – input values that are suggested in the wp-config.php file – this doesn’t increase the limits, but WordPress sees it as if they are increased”
To which I replied that I just want to switch to a better/more expensive package, as the website loads rather slowly anyways.
He then replied that he can get me a new, stronger package that DOESN’T offer higher PHP limits.
Should I listen to his advice, switch to a better package with no increased limits and do the wp-config.php “trick”?

wordpress has become a huge resource hog, to a point where cheap hostings don’t cut it anymore.
you’re better of running it on a VPS with 4 vcores and 8gb ram for say 20 bucks, instead of a normal webhosting for 5 bucks.
Yikes, those are some crazy high numbers. If that’s for a theme, I’d think twice about using it.
