Backend broken..

When I log in to my WordPress Dashboard all looks OK however NONE of the backend links work – they all go to this error message (with my website’s header graphic at the top):

Not Found

Sorry, but the page you were trying to view does not exist.

It looks like this was the result of either:

* a mistyped address
* an out-of-date link

The link appears to point to a valid location. I have tried disabling all plugins, switched to a generic WP theme, made sure my WP install and theme / plugins are updated, checked the .htaccess and wp-config files, and confirmed permissions are set properly.

I’m sure I’m missing something silly – all of the public-facing pages are working just fine, I’m just not able to edit anything at all or add new content.

Any ideas?

  1. Have you tried reinstalling WordPress? If not, take a backup of the site first before you run through the installation.
