Backup restore (.wrpress file) quick question

Hi there,

doing a favor to a family member (yeah, I know) and helping move the wordpress site from one hosting to another. New hosting limits the upload size to 100MB max, no way to increase, and .wpress file backup is 148MB. SSH is not available so I cannot run a cli import. I have FTP access, but plugins like All-in-one WP migration ask for an anual subscription in order to enable the restore feature.

Any idea/suggestion? Any free plugin that can execute imports from a file located in a server folder?

Thanks!

  1. .wpress is propriortary AIOWP migration file. There is no way to use that file unless you upgrade. If you still have access to the old site, there are loads of free migration plugins. I use Updraft free and have used WPVivid free, both with no issues.
