I’m in the process of setting up a WP website for our nonprofit in the education sector (scholarships etc).
What plugin would you recommend for the easiest possible setup of a simple donation page?
Ideal featurs out of the box:
* can create a super simple donation page where user can picke from a list of amounts or enter a custom amount
* user can check out in a few steps
* has the ability to link to a wide range of payment gateways
From what I’ve understood, there are two ways of receiving donations:
* plugins that directly link to Stripe and other payment gateways
* plugins that go via WooCommerce
The thing is, I come from a small country and we’re using a local bank account which will most likely force us to use WooCommerce because that’s what most payment gateway providers have plugins for.

Woocommerce will give the most payment methods. Check if Stripe works in your country.

WooCommerce will be totally overkill if you’re only using it for donations. Find a form plugin that supports your payment gateway.
Alternatively, as a non-profit you could use an external platform for donations such as Fundraise Up. Though I don’t know if it’s restricted to certain countries.
Create a product in your webshop with ‘variations’ for price tiers.
Or just stick a Paypal button (or something similar) on your website.
In Paypal you can use paypal.me. or create buttons for it in merchant settings somewhere. Easy peasy. But the webshop product thing also lets other payment methods in on the action – Which may be preferable.
