Best way to add payments + subscriptions

[ad_1]

Hello,
I am new to WordPress and I am wondering what is the most cost effective way to have a site with payment options and subscription options.
I am confused what plan to pick for WordPress. Can I pick the lowest monthly plan. Then go for elmentor pro and use their plugins to add a payment option ?
Thanks.

  1. If you want this without paying huge fees every month, you have to build the site yourself. Buy a domain, then hosting, then get a theme (e.g. Astra / Kadence / GeneratePress ) – then add the next thing…

Woocommerce – if you want a shop and people only have accounts for that shop. WPSwings do a plugin that allows subscriptions.

Membership – if you want people to be members, have accounts etc. Membership plugins allow subscriptions.

  2. Before you do anything, it looks like you’re considering WordPress.com packages. Don’t.

Look at wordpress.org and getting hosting instead.

For simple payment options you can add buttons from Stripe, Square etc. You can do recurring payments through those also. This method however takes the user away from your website for payment and you’ll have to manage it through their interfaces. Alternatives are likes of woocommerce for products (digital/physical) and membership plugin for subscriptions.

Have a look at YouTube but it depends a lot on what you want to sell and what you want to offer for the subscriptions.
