Blog post category images instead of text?

New to WordPress so this might be a dumb question:

For Blog post Categories, is it possible to have an image instead of text?

I.e. If I had a post about the NFL, instead of the words “National Football League” appearing, it would be the NFL shield logo?

This would be on the main page, where you see all the blog posts available to read.
