I’m sorry in advance for the long post. I am making a basic ecommerse (product) site for a family member as a favor, and I am completely new to this. Basically he has woocommerse and a domain already, and a dozen products or so already created when I recieved the login info. He said he “messed up” when setting up the site and wanted me to finish it, which I don’t know the details of but I see some buggyness like the logo overlapping with site header and layout stuff like that.
SO, I watched a youtube video tutorial on how to set up a simple ecommerse site and it said to use the Astra theme, and to choose a starting design that looks good for it. Was all smooth sailing, until it gave me an error message at the end of loading. I go back to the video, and the person was editing the site through the pages which I didn’t know about till now, so I check the pages, and theres only the privacy policy. I then check the products, and it’s all wiped. When I go to the published website, it has the old theme still but its just empty. Is it because I already had a theme and tried to add another one that it deleted the last one but didnt load the new? Why would that delete my products though?
I’m extremely confused, should I make the products again first, then change the theme? Advice for online shops welcome too
