I’m curious about buying hosting for my real estate website from a particular website (here is the [link]). Do I also need to purchase the business version of WordPress in order to use plugins? I’ve seen some YouTube videos where people buy hosting from this website, install WordPress, and are able to add plugins without any additional purchases. I’m hoping to avoid having to buy both hosting and the business plan on WordPress just to create my website. Can anyone shed some light on this?

WordPress is free. If you buy hosting then you install WordPress yourself. The “business” plan you are talking about is WordPress.com hosting. Read the sticky post at top of sub for differences between .com and .org WordPress. You want .org for full control.
There is a difference between WordPress.com (what you’re talking about with the “business version”) and WordPress.org (what you’re talking about with hosting). I really wish WordPress.com would change its name because I seem to point this out every day on here. Go with a webhost and WordPress.org (and if you’re running any sort of business, pay someone who knows what they’re doing to develop your website).
