Canonical from Yoast not showing

Hi there

Usually I don’t fill in the canonical within Yoast SEO plugin, as it is fine per default. However, on this site I noticed the following issue.

The main/default page is . Then there are translated versions, like the UK one: .

The canonical set for the main page is fine, but for the UK translated the canonical is set to – which should instead be the standard UK URL.

The issue is that I’m not able to find the string when translating the page, so I’m wondering whether the string cannot be translated at all?

I have tried both with an empty canonical, and also by manually inserting one (to make sure the string exists), but with no luck.

Maybe is has something to do with the page being set as the shop page in WooCommerce?
