A small organization had a website built using wordpress about 8 years ago. They hosted the site through dream host. I was asked to take over admin responsibilities by creating a new dream host account, and transferring the website to that account. The migration failed and now the website looks like it no longer exists. My initial thought was to log into word press and see what was going on. I can’t log in to the word press account now. How do I recover the account?

Did you download backups before you tried to migrate? If not, talk to DreamHost and hope to god they have backups.
