Hi everyone. I’m new to wordpress and I’m developing a site using the twenty twenty three theme. The site is a restaurant site so because of this I want to add widgets to the menu page.
This way I have the the menu categories in the widget and the menu options on the main section. I want to do it this way so the user doesn’t have to scroll to different options. They can just click on the category in the widget and it will take them to the correct section.
I’ve found a plug in that does exactly what I want. The only issue is that it needs widgets to work correctly and the theme doesn’t have the option for widgets.
How can I add it to the theme so that I can access it through the wp admin portal. I’ve looked at tutorials and documentation and most of them suggested altering the functions.php code. Unfortunately I’m not to familiar with php. I use javascript more.
If it helps the plug in is Resturant Menu by MotoPress
Thanks for your help.

Why not use a theme tailored to restaurants? 223 is basically a blog default with limited features.
