You should be able to do this without any issues, as long as the project has had its translation completed by the community members.
All WordPress-related translation efforts are community based. If you want, you can also contribute yourself to help your fellow Asian users. 🙂

At this current point in time, I can see the Chinese language pack being 100%, while Japanese is 93%.
