Change nameservers from WordPress.com to siteground, domain still pointing to old WordPress.com website

[ad_1]

I built a site on [Wordpress.com](https://Wordpress.com) then discovered later about hosting options and building locally for much cheaper than the $50 a month at [Wordpress.com](https://Wordpress.com).

My domain is registered on GoDaddy and the nameservers were of course [wordpress.com](https://wordpress.com). I’ve just changed the nameservers to sitegrounds, and now when I visit my domain, it redirects me to my old [wordpress.com](https://wordpress.com) website with the auto-generated wordpress URL they give you when you create the site.

Any idea what to do?

I’ve looked at my DNS settings on Siteground and can’t really figure it out. It’s been a couple hours since I made the nameserver switch and I checked on [dnschecker.org](https://dnschecker.org) if things have propagated – they have – except when you look at the PTR, it says Error: Invalid IP Address.
