change time period in dashboard widget

[ad_1]

Hi Rene,

That’s a nice idea! It isn’t possible in the current version but since everyone seems to want something different from their dashboard widget, we are thinking of making it configurable.

I’m not yet sure how to best implement that in terms of the user interface, so if you have any ideas I’d love to hear it.

A relatively easy first approach would be to accept a text input that you could add a list of functions too, eg ‘realtime(1h), chart(14d), top_posts(1d)’ but I am not sure whether that is too technical for some?

This would probably be the best option. A competitor product offers similar options for the widget, I find that very helpful and easy to understand.

Thanks @mobiflip.

I looked at Statify and actually really liked their defaults, just showing a quick summary of today for the top posts and top referrers. Especially after hearing you wanting to change it to just today.

I’ve now changed our dashboard widget to use the same and will look at providing some configurable settings for this in a future release.

Please let me know your thoughts once you’ve looked at version 1.3.1 please.
