Complete and utter novice to wordpress, working on safari. I was trying to change a a homepage url and seemed to have messed up and think I also changed the site url too which may be the reason for my problems.
I now have no access to the wordpress dashboard for this site as am unable to log-in. The log-in page is visible but it’s incredibly bare and when I do enter my details I get the message *”The requested URL /example/wp-login.php was not found on this server.”* and a note I can see “404 not found” when viewing the page as a tab.
Is there any way to return to the dashboard? I have very little technical capabilities here and most tutorials are asking to log into CPanel which I’ve downloaded a free trial of but am reticent to use in case I stuff things up further.
Any help is greatly appreciated, it’s for a live site connected to a restaurant so hoping to fix this ASAP. Apologies if I have not provided any helpful information (which I can do so).
