Currently having an issue with a website we built for a client that includes a WooCommerce Request a Quote store with category filters powered by Filter Everything. I have created a step-by-step video outlining the issue I am having with the filter system on the site in question, I think it will be much easier to understand this issue by watching this, but I will also type the issue below for your convenience:
This issue we are having is upon entering the products page, we can select/multi-select the parent category filters, and everything nested within the parent category populates, which is correct and how it should function. But upon clicking on the child categories within the parent category, the filter system stops working. We are trying to be able to multi-select sub/child-categories as well, and have them populate appropriately to what filters are selected.
For example, on metal360.ca specifically, you can multi-select “Shug/HF Couplings & Parts” and “Victaulic Couplings & Parts” (both parent categories), and every single child-category within those two parent categories populate, which is accurate.
But if you were to take this one level deeper and multi-select specific child-categories, or specific sized products within those child-categories, it does not work. For example, when you select Shug/HF Couplings & Parts > Couplings > 4″, it SHOULD be showing JUST the 4″ coupling products. Instead it just stays stuck with showing ALL of the child categories under “Shug/HF Couplings & Parts” which will be very confusing for customers. In order to populate just the 4″ coupling products, you need to DESELECT “Couplings” and “Shug/HF Couplings & Parts” with just the “4” selected, which will be extremely confusing for customers and is not user-friendly whatsoever.
Please advise on how we can fix this error and be able to multi select both parent, and sub-categories accurately and efficiently for these customers.
