I just created my first website and was trying to optimize the security, as I needed to add ” a lot “of code (header tags) in the functions.php, I read that by having a child theme is the best way otherwise all the code I typed will disappear if I update the theme. Now I want to start building the site by using a template and my question is: Do I need to build the website completely on the child theme or do I have to activate again the main theme when I create a page, write articles, optimize speed and SEO and once done reactivate the child theme?
