I manage a multisite with about a half dozen customers. The site has one function, athlete registration for amateur-level sporting events in our region. The site is about 11 years old but I am, by no means, an expert with WP nor am I interested in becoming one.
I streamline my process to keep my time and the event operator's costs low. I have created event templates for each event operator. Each year, I clone the operator's template to create a new yearly event. After that, I update dates, times, locations, prices, and event divisions in the newly created event. All of this was done with NS Cloner.
Example: /AnyCity_scrimmage_template would cloned to /2024_AnyCity_Scrimmage.
My dilemma:
NS Cloner free-version (now WP Cloner) will no longer clone the users or their metadata. I don't mind paying a nominal fee for a great plugin, but that's more than other plugins that offer far more features. This has forced me to shop around or consider shutting down the site.
What I've found:
NS Cloner – $300
Duplicator Pro – $200
WP Migrate – $220
My other option is to clone/migrate my users (customers) and their metadata with a plugin but I haven't found a simple solution.
I'm open to ideas
