Need help understanding an app/Web app type platform that will be totally ran by the owner.
The app is for a well known comedians podcast.
-Sell merchandise
-It needs to help with email automation for new content release announcements
-Host videos
-Host audio
-Comments on content and maybe create chat rooms on topics.
-User experience is very key-
-Subscription service with levels of access created. Simple payment options for recurring monthly subs- PayPal, stripe etc needs to be well known and easily set up.
-Locking phone and audio still plays like Spotify.
-Video controls need to be easy to use like YouTube or if YouTube can be used, this will be fine. (Main thing is the player and how it embeds or responds to the user.)
-Audio controls need to be easy to use without problems with buffer and can lock phone while listening. (Main thing is the player and how it embeds or responds to the user.)
-Simple navigation set ups for finding content and favourite user areas.
Of big importance is for this app to become a community based platform potentially being copied and cloned for other comedians to use, or it becoming one big platform for them all.
I’m looking to understand what technologies are needed but especially the user experience is key. I have built things similar in the last using WordPress and it worked OK on mobile but we are trying to create an app/webapp based model that can deliver everything I’ve mentioned.
We are keen to stay away from 3rd party platforms- patreon etc.
If anybody has any direction or resources I should be looking at I’d really appreciate a point in the right direction.
