*Using salient theme.. don’t think it matters in this case though. I’m good enough in WordPress to be dangerous but still a bit inexperienced in it’s abilities and limitations.*
So my coworker and I are having a bit of a dispute. We want to create a quarterly newsletter that’s only viewable to our employees that have a link. The pages would not be public. There would be an actual “**page**” and inside that page would be images and links that would go to **posts**. The posts would also be private. It would be dressed up nicely and very convenient. I’ve done two of these already for a couple of our companies. They’re obviously public facing pages though.
Am I missing something here? She’s extremely concerned that private company info, birthdays, policies and things like that would be crawled by search engines and therefore we could be compromised. I think that’s probably rubbish, but I came here after getting deep into google with very confusing and differing results.
Can anyone give me a nice little argument **FOR** my desire to do this newsletter in WordPress. Maybe a link or two that would support my argument if I’m correct?
[Here’s a link from one our newsletter that I’ll mimick.])Thanks so much for any input!

Any content that’s publicly accessible can be crawled and indexed so there’s a genuine cause for concern especially if the information contains personally identifiable details that the organization has a commitment and responsibility to safeguard and protect.
Personally identifiable information is a treasure trove for anyone who is sufficiently skilled to carry out a variety of security attacks e.g. phishing, social engineering and more.
To get the outcome you’re after and to minimize content from being accessible by the outside world, you could look at deploying and installing WordPress locally on a server that’s only available to staff internally like an intranet.
