Complianz: better options?

[ad_1]

We have a website that targets users globally with a large group of users in central EU and western EU, as well as APAC and N America.

GTM is configured in complianz and the tag template for consent mode v2 is being utilized. However, the GTM script completely stops working properly and tags do not fire after navigating to a 2+ page from the initial landing page. So we have tracking & consent properly working only in landing pages. Any page after that returns zero tracking or tags fired. The website is not a SPA and does not have content that is loaded dynamically when navigating between URLs.

We’ve reached out to complianz support, who basically said that consent was working just fine, which isn’t the issue. The issue is their native GTM integration which is required for consent mode V2.

In troubleshooting, the only theories I can take away are that the GTM tag placement within the complianz plugin UI is creating an issue for GTM, consent data is not being properly passed from complianz——>gtm (or vice versa), cookie issue…and idk what else at this point.

Myself and my developer have spent hours trying to figure this out, and we’re just kind of throwing our hands up at this point. Are there other tools that are highly recommended? I see enough about cookieyes & cookiebot, but really don’t want to get sucked into another plugin just because it’s popular. I’m willing to pay more to avoid the marketing gimmicks and lack of support. Any help is super appreciated.

  1. I am now using CookieYes. It is a paid plugin but the cost is very reasonable for the businesses I engage in.
It is very powerful and has regulations for every country that requires them. Most people in the States mention GDRP but in reality there are so many other countries that have their own regulations and CookieYes Provides banners in those native languages.

My only issue has been that once in a while the functionality stops and I guess they are aware of that, and if it happens there is an advanced setting for reloading the page on consent action, which saved me a lot of headache.
