Contact info block when a theme doesn’t support widgets?

[ad_1]

The title explains it – I’m using a theme which I’ve just discovered doesn’t support widgets. But I’d still like a contact info block. There isn’t a “contact info” block as such, as it only seems to exists as a widget. And some themes – like the one I’m using – don’t support widgets. So my questions are:

* how can I add a contact info block without using widgets?
* how can I find, before it’s too late, which (free, block) block themes support widgets? I can’t find a way of searching this within WordPress, as the only widget parameter given is “Footer widgets”.

Many thanks!

  1. You can use a shortcode to display the contact info block.

    Have you tried `blocksy` theme?

  2. > how can I add a contact info block without using widgets?

Build your own Contact Info block. You don’t need a widget, you don’t need to code, that’s the beauty of blocks (and block-based themes).

What’s a contact info block but a series of headings, paragraphs and lists.

If you need inspiration, check the [pattern directory on WordPress.org](https://wordpress.org/patterns/) for ideas on how to build a contact info block.

If you need versus specific markup (like schema.org markup for Google search previews) look for a contact info block in the plugin directory. It will be better than a legacy widget.

    If it’s a block-based theme, it doesn’t support widgets.
Instead, you can build and edit your own “widget areas”, “sidebars”, “footers” from within the site editor (i.e. zones of your site that are displayed on multiple pages, in specific places). Inside those areas, you can add any block you want. It can be a block or group of blocks from WordPress itself. It can be a block provided by a plugin. It can be a block you developed yourself. It can be a mix of all the above. Your creativity is the limit 🙂
