Create the actual content for dynamic pages

OK so I’m gonna be honest: I’m a noobie, not a qualified web dev, in way over my head, but still have to complete a huge undertaking.

For that, I’ll need to use dynamic content. I’ve tried watching many Youtube videos on dynamic content, and there’s something that I don’t understand: they show how to create custom post type, a custom template, how to add the custom fields, and voilà! Dozens of pages with clothes, cars, houses, or whatever example they use. But they never show how they actually populate that content. I’m sure it’s because it’s stupidly easy that anyone with a basic understanding of WordPress would know, but apparently it managed to elude my smooth brain.

So I had two questions for you guys, assuming I work with a custom post type that I’ll call “equipment”:

1. What would be the best way to create a content database with thousands of entries with an equipment name, equipment description, equipment picture?

2. Once I’m done creating my CPT, creating my template, adding the custom fields to said template, how do I link to a specific equipment?

Thanks for any help you can provide, I’m really lost there!
