Creating a subdirectory for Internationalization

[ad_1]

Hi everyone!

Feel free to let me know if this question isn’t relevant/goes against rules. I’m creating a website for a client and basically they want a bilingual website.. think its probably best going for a subdirectory. I’m not sure the best way to progress? Any advice from anyone that’s created a bilingual website would be much appreciated

  1. Use a multilingual plugin [https://www.wpbeginner.com/showcase/9-best-translation-plugins-for-wordpress-websites/])

A subdirectory won’t do multilingual properly – there’s a bunch of stuff that needs to happen in the code for Google to recognise a site as belonging to a multilingual group e.g. hreflang and canonical links.
