[Creating a theme] When I try to view source on a content page, the source shows the content/text instead of html code. Is there a setting somewhere within \xampp\htdocs\ or in XAMPP Control Panel? Or maybe it’s because I’m viewing it on the localhost?

Pretty much the title. I can’t post the video because my Reddit account is less than 30 days old.

I was following a tutorial on creating custom themes for WordPress. I’m familiar with HTML, CSS, JS but new to WordPress. When he viewed his source on his content page, he was able to see the html code but I find it hard to follow along since I can’t.

I’m viewing the page via view-source:http://localhost/wordpress/ and instead of showing me the html information, I see the content which is “test”. That’s the content I put into front-page.php

Update: I think I solved it. It was something dumb when I was setting up my root files.
