Hello Everyone.
I was working on my very first wordpress site and tried to create a custom header using the theme builder of elementor pro. After I saved the template and exited, I got a critical error message and I’m not able to access the site anymore, not even through the recovery mode.
I really don’t know what to do since I’m fairly new to wordpress, I don’t have any sort of back up and my webhoster isn’t really able to help either. Is my website doomed?
If you have any suggestions, any kind of help would really be appreciated.
Are you using cPanel/Softaculous to manage your hosting & WordPress install?
If you can disable your website plugins from your hosting dashboard, then you could turn them all of and see whether that fixes the issue. If it does, turn the plugin’s back on one-by-one to see determine which one’s causing the error.
Enter recovery mode by adding a special URL parameter after the wp-login.php part, like this:
https://your-domain.com/wp-login.php?action=entered_recovery_mode
After login in, disable all active plugins, then exit recovery mode. You will have to activate your plugins one by one then to check which one cause the issue. Maybe start with Elementor itself.
Try to disble plugins from the hosing side. You can do this by going to wp-content/plugins, and from here rename the folder to a different name, this will disable the plugin and you can check if the website works afterward.
If it did work before creating the header, remove it and try if it will work again, it might be the cause.
