Customers don’t receive password reset mail

I’m getting messages from customers not being able to reset their password almost every week now. They don’t receive the e-mail for a password reset, also not when I send one from my end. I’ve had this problem for a long time and haven’t been able to figure out how to solve it. Some users can reset their passwords, and some can’t.

I asked this before and was recommended to disable plugins to find out if there’s a conflict (I’m already using the default storefront theme). Unfortunately I am not able to replicate the problem on my end, so I don’t know which plugin it could be. Is there a known cause for this problem? I’m guessing I’m not the only one who has this issue.
