So I bought a theme from template monster and I had limited choice in selection since our designer (in which my boss said I can learn a lot from???) was throwing a fit about which theme to choose without understanding the ins and outs of WordPress development. I knew this theme had limited to no reviews and purchases but did not want to deal with the fit he was throwing. Anyways back to the point the theme I bought worked fine on the demo site and once installing I noticed a couple of pretty medium to small issues. Issues that are affected by plain one line code deletions as that was the solution when I compared the theme files to the fixed versions (insane) or minor css issues. The support team kept giving me workarounds, ended up crashing my staging site, fresh install, mainly wasting my time, asking for cpanel etc. Constantly blaming our sites configuration even though they mentioned it has happened on other customer’s sites and asked if I had another site they could trouble shoot it on (strange). Are they just an incompetent support theme or are they leveraging customer’s lack of knowledge to possibly keep buying support? It almost seems like those small issues are a bit deliberate to have to ask their support team to fix them. It also seems like they have no interest in pushing the “fixed” version of the theme to template monster’s website. Is this a common deceptive tactic to take advantage of people who purchase themes? Trying to find the motive as I guess these customers can buy extra support from template monster.
